The integrated wet room with shower and WC make it the ideal model for self-sufficient travelling. With sleeping space for 2 adults and 2 children, divided between a transverse bed in the rear and a bunk bed, it offers space for the whole family - including a view of the starry sky. With its fully equipped kitchenette, including gas hobs, a separable sleeping area and plenty of storage space, the Grand California is the perfect temporary home for young and old.

What does the interior of the California look like?

The interior of the Grand California is spacious and well thought-out. There is a fixed double bed for two adults in the back and a bunk bed for children above the driver's cab in the front. The kitchen is built into the side, with a sink, two-burner gas hob and 70-litre refrigerator. The full bathroom is a special feature: separate wet room with toilet, washbasin and shower. The front seats can be swivelled, and a table connects the driver's cabin and living area to form a spacious seating area. Large windows, plenty of storage space and high ceilings ensure a real motorhome feeling - but in VW style.

Can I also travel with my dog in the California?

Yes, your four-legged friends are welcome to join you on your journey. Please select the ‘dog camper’ option when booking if you would like to take your dog with you.

There is a charge of €149 for an extra professional clean.

This does not include deep cleaning of upholstery and mattress.

The interior cleaning of the camper is also included and no longer needs to be booked separately.

If you take a dog with you without booking the ‘dog camper’, we reserve the right to charge for this option at a later date.

Can I choose the gearbox type and colour etc.?

No, unfortunately not.

What distinguishes the California from the Tirol?

Both have 4 sleeping places - but not quite equally distributed.

The Grand California is officially a 2+2 sleeper: two adults in the back, children in the front. The high roof bed is slightly shorter - taller people sleep better downstairs. The Tirol comfortably sleeps 4 adults!

And another difference:

Only the VW Grand California is labelled "California". Full stop.

The Tirol, on the other hand, is a whole family of different campers - same style, different details.

The California comes with a fixed high roof - insulated and closed.

The Tirol has a pop-up roof. This provides fresh air and a real van feeling - but can also get cooler at night.
